General Description:
The OBHL Youth League at Grimsby Peach King Centre is for Boys and Girls of
All Ages and All Skill Levels to Get Outside, Play Ball Hockey and Have FUN!
We are looking forward to a FUN filled 4th year of Outdoor Ball Hockey at the Peach King Centre in Grimsby.  So if you are just picking up a stick for the first time or you are looking to keep your hockey skills tuned up and want tons of FUN then register today to Play!
The Town of Grimsby's Outdoor Rink is smaller that the full size ball hockey rink at OBHL-Fifty Point, therefore the teams play 4on4 or 3on3 (depending on their age) for best playability.

When and Where to Register?
Register Online Anytime by clicking on the "Register Now" button on the home page or Come into the OBHL Office at Fifty Point Rink. Fifty Road and QEW (tell the gatehouse you are there to register).  Please text, call 905-520-7965 or email before you come to ensure someone is there to take your registration. or see schedules online if there is games we are open.

Seasons to Play:
Spring Season (April to Early June)
Summer Season (Mid June to Mid August)
Fall Season (September through October)

Season Details:

  • 12 Games Plus Playoffs (Typically 14 Games minimum with playoffs)
  • Team Shirt to Keep
  • Team Picture (print and digital copy available)
  • Player Souvenir (trophy or medal)
  • Free Pizza and Juice after the Finals
  • Free Practice Time at Fifty Point Conservation Area.
  • Outdoor Ball Hockey FUN! At the Peach King Centre

Divisional Rule:
Youth ages 6-8 - aim 4on4 plus goalies
Youth ages 9-11 - aim 3on3 plus goalies
Youth ages 12-14 - aim 3on3 plus goalies (No players with DOB year of 2003)
Rookie Program Ages 3-5

Youth League Fees:
REGISTER EARLY AND SAVE!!

Youth Early Bird Registration Fee: $115.04 + HST = $130  (until Aug 19th)
Youth Regular Registration Fee: $123.89 + HST = $140  (Aug 20th - Onward)

Season Scheduling:
The Season Scheduling will consist of 1 to 2 games per week.
We are aiming to start Mid Sept. Players will play a weekday and weekend games. Games are broken up evenly for all teams in your division. The days will depend on the amount of registrations and teams in each division.


Scheduling Days To Play:
Rookie Program Ages +3:  Please see Rookies Page
Youth 6-8 Division: Monday and or Wednesdays at 6pm and Saturday Late Mornings.
Youth 9-11 Division: Tuesday and or Thursday at 6 or 7pm and Saturday Late Mornings.
Youth 12-14 Division: Monday and Thursday at 6 or 7pm and Saturday Late Mornings.

Match with ONE Friend or Sibling:
Players can pick ONE friend OR a family member to play with.
Complete the necessary fields on the registration form to add 1 friend or sibling(s) name.
BUT your match must add you to their form to be successfully matched up.
Please do not put in a coach name or many player names as we can not make up teams evenly. We try to make the teams as competitive as possible to have fun and exciting games for everyone.

Coaches:
Coaches are an important part of youth ball hockey.  Please complete the coaching information on the registration form if you can help volunteer. We like to have 3 parent volunteers per team to work together in teaching safe and fun play. Promoting a positive environment and teaching
sportsmanship, respect, and having fun are most important. 


Weather Policy: 
Games are played in the light rain. But games are usually canceled if it is raining or has rained
throughout the day as the rink holds water being an outdoor ice rink. Games are also canceled due to thunder,
lightening, high winds, etc.

Youth Player Equipment:

Mandatory Equipment 18yrs and Younger:
-helmet with full face protection
-protective gloves
-jock or jill strap
-shin pads
-stick
-elbow pads (recommended but not mandatory)
-water bottle or drink
Note: League Provides Goalie Equipment
